I have
been playing the guitar since the early 1970’s. My early heroes were singer songwriters
such as James Taylor, Don McLean and John Denver.
I also
studied classical guitar, both privately and in music college. After a brief stint as a classical guitar
teacher, I began playing electric guitar and joined a band heading for a
tour of Norway.
I fell
in love with Norway and made it my home for almost seven years, during
which time I toured with a number of bands throughout Scandinavia and
Europe.
In the
1990’s I began working as a solo artist and really began to focus on song
writing. Although I had been writing
songs for many years, I truly found my voice in 1997. I had come through the other side of a
divorce and as often happens with song writers this proved to be a source
of great inspiration.
The
resulting collection of songs was snapped up by American label and music
publishers Atlan-Dec Music in Atlanta in the USA and in 1998 my debut album
‘Stepping Into The Light’ was released.
I have
continued writing and performing as a solo artist ever since, although
these days I tend to focus on performing as an entertainer, playing a wide
variety of covers as well as my own songs.
